We hope everyone survived our most recent tropical storm, as we are excited that the water did not make it into our establishment this go round and therefore... we can continue to deliver to you, our fine live music aficionados, the best talent in the world... and beyond! How does the fun continue this week? Glad you asked!! Wednesday, Oct 23 - BS Open Mic hosted by Matt Gardi starts at 6pm. Come on out and sing a song and get to know what it feels like to get up on stage in front of a crowd and hear what you sound like on a sound system the pros play on. As always tips for BS Open Mic performers are dedicated to charity. This month we are working with our friends at the Forgotten Coast Parrot Head Club to help contribute to their efforts to raise money for Project Lifesaver by putting on a Haunted Trail (Oct 25th, 26th and 31st) in association with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Project Lifesaver is the premier search and rescue program operated internationally by public safety agencies, and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition (i.e. Alzheimer’s, Autism, etc.) We are excited to have the first $200 in tips matched by a very generous donor. So let's continue BS Open Mic's effort to help out this worthy cause. Thursday, Oct 24 - Thousand Dollar Hen joins us for a show from 6-9pm. Thousand Dollar Hen is comprised of talents from local singer/songwriter Ashley Chandler, guitarist Christopher Stahl (of Quitman, GA) and the musical stylings of guitarist Sean Everett (of Mobile, AL). Based out of Tallahassee, FL, this group gravitates toward expressive harmonies and meaningful lyricism. They cover a variety of songs and their original music is inspired by life experiences and is influenced by the works of artists such as the Civil Wars, Wild Rivers and Mandolin Orange. Friday, Oct 25 - The Wailin' Wolves return to the stage from 7-10pm. Led by notably one of the most dynamic female vocalist around.. Britt Widener! The Wailin' Wolves are a popular band that are known to keep people dancing all night long as they offer a guitar led show featuring a tight rhythm section as Brittany leads the vocals ranging from soul shaking raspy blues to modern alternative variations. Throw some funky keys and sax into the mix and get ready for a hoppin' Friday night. Saturday, Oct 26 - Tyler James Arnold is ready to rock a Saturday afternoon from 3-6pm. Tyler is a top talent with a solid fan base who plays a fantastic set list of new americana, southern rock, your older classics, and all with a feel and flavor of his bayou origins. He masterfully lays down just the right amount of sampling that back his intricate heartfelt leads, and all with a passion for performing. Then, hold onto you hats as the Jerry Thigpen Trio is bringing the rock and blues train into town for a show from 6:30-10pm. Well written originals are mixed in with your favorites from the Beatles to the blues... so come on out for a show that is sure to have the joint jumpin! We are looking forward to a very special night with the Trio at Bowery Station this Saturday night. Sunday, Oct 27 - Solesse joins us for a show from 5-8pm. Solesse is a trio based out of Tallahassee featuring the writings and vocals of Mary Ann Hoffman of Garnet and Soul and Craig Daniel Hardin. Neal Goree brings the songs to life on guitar. Mary lends a soulful edge that compliments the Alt-Country flair brought by Neal and Craig. We have been enjoying a great lineup of acts that create a performer centric environment on Sundays, and Solesse fits that mold perfectly! As always, thanks to all of you that continue to make Bowery Station your home for the best live music in the world! |
