With October comes our return to winter hours!  What does that mean to you?

More hours, more days, more live music, and the return of BS Open Mic on Wednesdays!!  Hours return to Wednesday thru Sunday from 2pm till 10pm... or whenever the music ends!! This week is highlighted by the return of Sauce Boss, as Bill Wharton cooks up some great music... and GUMBO!

Let's see how the first week of winter hours sets up....

Wednesday, Oct 2 - BS Open Mic returns starting at 6pm.  Come on out and sing a song and get to know what it feels like to get up on stage in front of a crowd and hear what you sound like on a sound system the pros play on.  As always tips for BS Open Mic performers are dedicated to charity.  This month we are working with our friends at the Forgotten Coast Parrot Head Club to help contribute to their efforts to raise money for Project Lifesaver by putting on a Haunted Trail (Oct 25th, 26th and 31st) in association with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.  Project Lifesaver is the premier search and rescue program operated internationally by public safety agencies, and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering.  The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition (i.e. Alzheimer’s, Autism, etc.)  We are excited to have the first $200 in tips matched by a very generous donor.  So let's kick off BS Open mic once again with some great energy!  Wooooooo Who!!!

Thursday, October 3 - Garnet & Soul joins us for a Thursday show from 6:30-9:30pm.  Mary Ann and the boys have become such a popular regional act that it is hard to get them on the schedule, again this month we locked them in for a Thursday night!  Notably one of the most dynamic female vocalists around, Mary Ann takes the band on a tour of funk, soul and jazz for an evening that always ends up hoppin'!

Friday, October 4 - Cat Braaten and Tom Mason join us for a Friday night show from 7-10pm.  Cat, a proven Apalach favorite that can belt out the tunes with a mix of originals and covers, always gives a lights out performance, but once in a great while she brings along with her Nashville legend Tom Mason.  Tom joins her with intricate guitar riffs, fantastic harmonies, some amazing originals of his own, and on occasion.. even a trombone!!  We love this show on a Friday night in the fall!

Saturday, October 5 - The day starts with soloist Jeb Tabb joining us for a show from 3 - 5:30pm.  Jeb brings his Georgia roots to his performance with solid vocals of Americana with a down home feel. Then, get your Gumbo on as renowned bluesman Bill Wharton, the Sauce Boss, joins us for an evening of hot cooking blues and gumbo starting at 6:45.  Sauce Boss actually incorporates cooking delicious gumbo on stage while he performs his swamp funk and blues that he is so well known for.  This will not only be a great musical performance, but will be a feast for a hundred hungry gumbo lovers.  PLEASE NOTE:  As always, there is not a cover for this national act, so if you would like a seat, it is advisable to arrive early.  No outside beverages or containers will be allowed.  We appreciate your consideration and support in our attempts to bring this level of talent to Apalachicola free of charge.  We appreciate our friends at the Chowder House for their support and assistance for this show.

Sunday, Oct 6 - Cruise back into recovery mode from Saturday, and come enjoy one of the best jazzy growling bluesman on the Gulf Coast as Slim Fatz joins us from 3-5pm.  We all know Slim has his very own style of both playing and singing that no one can replicate, but everyone can appreciate as he takes us on a tour from Louis Armstrong to his own captivating originals.  Come chill out and enjoy a low key afternoon from 3-5pm with our man Slim!  Then, Randy and Yvonne of Drivetrain take the stage from 5-8pm.  Drivetrain features audience interactive male and female lead vocalists, award winning instrumentalists and put on a show of bluegrass, folk and americana like few others can.  Randy is a masterful guitar player and really lights up a fiddle as well, while Yvonne adds a standup bass to her impressive vocals. Drivetrain has performed worldwide including all over the U.S., Europe, Asia in countries such as Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, Spain and Italy, on Military bases for our troops abroad, Cruiseships, The Rock Boat, The Grand Ole Opry, Weddings, Churches and prominent Universities from South Florida to Princeton.

Sauce Boss, the return of BS Open Mic, and more days and great live music!!

See you at the show!!
