Bowery Station Music Schedule (Nov 1 - 5)

How did November get here so quick?  We all know that means the Seafood Festival here in Apalachicola, so we at the BS music factory put together a great line up for the crowds we know that will fill the streets...(Really...sometimes we just have to look at the line up and pinch ourselves....blessed to have this level of talent grace the BS stage!)

Here we go...

Wednesday, Nov 1 -  BS Open Mic hosted by Matt Gardi rolls from 6-8ish.  This weekly event has been a mainstay in local entertainment for years, and has fostered the development of numerous performers as they gain their confidence and stage presence.  All levels of talent are welcomed and appreciated.  As always, tips for performers from BS Open Mic go to charity, during the month of November we would like to help out our friends at the Panhandle Players, who are working diligently to provide the area with a great new auditorium to host their plays and other performances.

Thursday, Nov 2 - Bluegrass fans...get ready...Copper Line Bluegrass returns for a show from 6-8:30pm.  These four guys do it right with one central mic, from mandolin, to stand up bass, to fiddle, to banjo and guitar, these folks put on a high energy show that keeps your feet tapping.  Last time they hit town, word spread like wildfire and we know it will happen again.  Copper Line indeed makes Thursdays the New Friday!

Friday, Nov 3 - Key West's Lance Taylor returns with his mostly original show of down to earth Americana tales of the road from 3-5pm, few have his style, voice or lyrics so come enjoy a Key West Great in the afternoon.  Then, hold on as Infant Richard and the Delta Stones roll in for a debut show from 7-10pm.  As BS always strives to bring in the best musical performers for your listening enjoyment, this one is a debut you won't want to miss.  These cats out of Mobile, Alabama are a multi-award winning sextet who can only be described as Phish meets 2 Live Crew.  Described by Alabama Entertainment as an "Act you can't afford to miss!" they can take you from coffee house love songs to edgy hoppin' rap with superb vocals, horns and the like.  BS agrees...you can't afford to miss this Alabama rising star.

Saturday, Nov 4 - Get in early for what we all know will be a packed house day for some of the best acts that have graced the Bowery Station stage.  Savanna Leigh Bassett and Josh Watson are in for an afternoon jam of Country, Rock and Americana from 2-5:30pm.   Then, once again, get your safety belts on as HighTest returns to Bowery Station from 6-9pm.  These guys out of Tally lay it out there from the minute the first key is hit.  Keys, horns, vocals and it's a jam session that Apalach knows will light up the town.  Get ready to shake your booty for a funky band that is serious about their groove.  Tallahassee HighTest...now that is a Saturday night!  Call the power company cause these guys burn up the kilowatts!

Sunday, Nov 5 - So how do you recuperate after that kind of week...with FIRST SUNDAYS of course.  That means music and food!  It starts with the infamous Gill Autrey playing a short set of classical at 2pm as he weaves information about the composers into his show.  We then transition into Slim Fatz for a set of blues and oldies in his signature style from 2:30-4:30.  Then, we have locked Matt Law in to close out the day from 5-8:30pm.  We all know Matt can and will do it all from the Blues, 50's..60's...any era you name it.  Top it off with his originals and we're talking arguably one of the best solo performers on the Gulf Coast.  We would be remiss not to mention it is also FIRST SUNDAY'S TACO NIGHT!  Ramon will be cooking some of his signature Tacos to benefit the Panhandle Players starting at 5-6pm.   There is always a line, so head in early!  Great music...great eats!  Now that is what First Sundays are all about!

Hey, if it was just about beer and wine...that'd be cool....but put the best damn fresh live music in the mix .... hey now... That's BS!
