Bowery Station Music Schedule (May 22-26)

As summer approaches we are making a few changes with our schedule... the first is a suspension of Open Mic until the fall.  The reason being is we are only open 4 days a week in the summer... and we want to keep as many of our musicians busy as we can.  Also, we have the opportunity to catch some great talent during the summer and sometimes it can only occur on a Wednesday as they tour through the area.... and we continue featuring fantastic female performers during the month of May... for example.....

Wednesday, May 22 - We are pleased to have another special performance by Shannon Labrie and Kyshona from 7-10pm.  These ladies graced our stage for a standing room only show in January and we are excited they have made us a part of their tour once again.  Nashville chanteuse Shannon LaBrie defies genre and brings to life insightful stories of a woman who remains true to herself in a life where uncertainty is certain. The Lincoln, NE native instantly became a favorite among music fans and critics alike with her powerful 2016 album War & Peace. With lead singles, "Alcohol," and "It's Political" the independent release reached inside the Top Ten on iTunes, Spotify's US viral chart and Triple A Radio charts. Famed music blogger Bob Lefsetz wrote, “This track affected me. Made me believe like the great singer-songwriters of yore, maybe this woman has something to say. That in this crazy, mixed up, shoot-up world she can illuminate her story and people can relate.” Kyshona has mixed her love of story telling with the sound of her musical roots. Soulful, spiritual, at times guttural, Kyshona delivers an open honesty through her voice and lyrics. Her desire when she is performing is to connect with and take the audience on an emotional, soul stirring, musical journey, and that she did back in January.  Both these ladies captured the audience from their first through their last song, and undoubtedly will do so again.

Thursday, May 23 - Sundowner Motel joins us for a debut from 6-9pm.  Americana folk that is hard to classify, Sundowner Motel crosses genre boundaries with songs that ache with the intimacy of life, grit and blessing alike, all wrapped in tone, melody and harmony. It Sounds like a place where one can go to feel sinless and strong. Described as a mixture between Warren Haynes and the Indigo Girls, Sundowner Motel is a refreshingly pure blend of Americana, Alt-country and folk. This will be a great debut show, so don't miss it.

Friday, May 24 - The Frank Jones Band is coming back to rock Apalachicola for a show from 7-10pm.  Frank riffs a mean guitar, backed by serious keys, harp and a rhythm section that puts the feel in everyone to get up and move!  While some might put him in the Blues/Rock box, Frank and his band have a feel all their own, adding in a little funky soulful vibe and ear catching originals.  This is what Friday nights are made for at Bowery Station!

Saturday, May 25 - The day starts off with the guys from Sticky Too hitting the stage for a show from 3-5:30pm.  Tim and Jay can play just about any genre, and can always feel out the crowd to play just the perfect set list.  Either can take a lead with their refined guitar skills, and clearly offer some of the best harmonies around the region, so come on out and get sticky!  Then, Bowery Station is pleased to welcome back the TurkeyBasters from 6:30-10pm!  We all need some basting once in a while, and no one is more up to the task than Melissa Bowman and Tim Dutrow, some of the area's most talented live performers!  This duo absolutely raises the rafters every time they step on stage with their energy and talent, sharing their enthusiasm with an eager audience.  Melissa gets the crowd singing along, dancing, and cheering to her commanding vocals and powerful guitar skills, as Tim's impressive time keeps the feet tapping and the hands clappin'!   Followers have developed into a cultesque group of devotees that just love to get basted....come join the cult!  Wow, a chance to get sticky and get basted on the same day!

Sunday, May 26 - Cat Braaten starts off the day with a show from 2:30-5pm.  Cat is a great songwriter as well as vocalist and musician.  She brings out a great feel of Americana and rock, with a soulful presentation.  Then, the now Nashville based... Boo Radley returns for an evening show from 5:30-8:30pm.  One of the finest duos to play the Southeast, Patty and Michael combine their voices for intense harmonies accompanied by Michael's incredible guitar arrangements for a performance of their own style of what has become know as ...new 850 Americana.  A primarily original show that fans have come to love, this will make for a fantastic Sunday evening for any original live music enthusiast!

Again, what a great week of live music, concentrating on female performers, and some of the best songwriters around... thank you one and all, from performers to you live music enthusiasts that continue to join us in building one of the best live music venues on the Gulf Coast!!!

See you at the shows!
