Well we are pleased to present to you, dear live music aficionados, a fun filled week which includes our Italian Celebration of St. Patrick, (because after all St. Patrick was Italian!) this year scheduled directly on top of the Irish one.... so it will be like an old fashioned South Boston Italian/Irish mix up...with great live tunes of course! Here we go... Wednesday, March 14 - David Timothy Dunn returns from 3-5pm. David puts on a great show of americana, oldies, folk and rock with his son Zach backing him on percussion. Then, BS Open Mic rolls from 6-8ish. This weekly event has been a mainstay in local entertainment for years, and has fostered the development of numerous performers as they gain their confidence and stage presence. All levels of talent are welcomed and appreciated. Get in early for a seat as the last few weeks have been packed houses!!! As always, tips for performers from BS Open Mic go to charity, and this week we will be raising money for the Franklin County Humane Society. So come on out and belt out a tune or two for a great cause and great fun. Thursday, March 15 - Paul Boyle is on deck from 3-5pm. We recently enjoyed Paul with his band Low Country Boyle, and are looking forward to his solo show with a set list that includes rock, country and a touch of folk. Then in our effort to make Thursdays the New Fridays, we welcome Sticky Too to the stage from 6-8:30. Few can light it up like this duo, who take us on a lighthearted tour of rock, americana, and southern rock with a touch of country. Great vocal harmonies are their signature as either of these gents can, and will, break into great guitar riffs. Friday, March 16 - OK kids...let's talk. There are some days packed with talent, and this is one of them. Back from Nashville on his southern tour, we welcome Ryan Broshear for an afternoon show from 3-5pm. As many of you know, Ryan is a top singer/songwriter who loves Apalach and Bowery Station, and we are blessed his level of talent is willing to fit us into his tour. Then, Wailin' Wolves return to the stage from 7-10pm. Led by notably some of the most dynamic vocalists, Wailin' Wolves are a popular band that are known to keep people dancing all night long. The Wailin' Wolves offer a guitar led show featuring a tight rhythm section. Their two lead vocalists offer a great variety of vocals ranging from soul shaking raspy blues to modern alternative variations. It's hard to beat a a Friday like this at BS! Saturday, March 17 - It's St. Patrick's Day as only Bowery Station can celebrate. First, it kicks off in the day with house favorite Matt Law and the Usual Suspects from 3-6pm. These guys put on a show at most of our most popular festivals as few can. Matt, Ron, Marc and Steve lay down a set list of fun favorites that span the generations and have everyone tune in. With great vocals, some of the best guitars around, they are backed by a great bass line and percussion played with finesse! These guys love to entertain and it shows! Then, folks and fans, pots and pans, Italians and Irish, Celtic on the Halfshell returns for a show from 7-10pm. Local legends Randy, Carol, Charlie, and Charles are coming in for a show of their Irish ditties and favorite singalongs. Bust out your clogs and get ready to stir up the peanut shells and come on out whether you be Italian or Irish... Now, we pause to share with you this limerick submitted by Tom Kiernan, the gentleman who won our limerick contest at our first Italian Celebration of St. Patrick. He's pictured as green as a scallion, Leading his Irish Battalion, But grab your shamrock, 'cause you're in for shock, St. Patrick was really Italian!! ...and now back to our regular schedule update.... Sunday, March 18 - Dave Dale joins us for a Sunday afternoon from 4-8pm! Dave always puts on an entertaining show from Country to Rock with a little touch of Americana. Joining us from Dothan, Dave always involves the crowd as his joy for performing is contagious as he mixes in originals with well known covers that have you tapping and clapping. As always, we at Bowery Station are thankful for your continued support of our efforts to bring a variety of great live music to Apalachicola. You should know that one of the most exciting things we hear most frequently from musicians that play the BS stage is that they love our crowd because they appreciate live music! So we tip an ice cold beer in your honor, and we'll see you at the show! Matt and Lisa Gardi |
