Bowery Station Music Schedule (June 6-9)

posted Jun 5, 2018, 6:05 AM by Matt Gardi
We ended last week on such a beautiful note as Patty and Michael Turner of Boo Radley fame tied the Knot in Bowery Station, and you just can't get much better than that.  But we at the BS live music factory will never stop trying to bring the best live music to Apalachicola.

So let's see what we got for this week....

Wednesday, June 6– Spotlight on the Mic featuring Clayton Mathis will start off the day from 5:30-6:15.  This new feature allows for developing artists to play a few more songs than at Open Mic, get a little more warmed up, and expand their repertoire. Clayton brings a solid Americana set list, with a touch of country to his shows, and always mixes in a joke or two.   Then, BS Open Mics rolls from 6-8ish.   As always, tips for performers go to benefit a charity, and again this week and for the month of June, we are generating support for the Apalachicola Riverkeeper, by way of our friend Janine Gedmin who is seeking sponsorship for her 107 mile Rivertrek kayak trip in October!!  Janine is committed to the trek, and BS is committed to her.  So come on out and support her efforts … and the Apalachicola Riverkeeper!

Thursday, June 7 - Shaken and Stirred are back on the BS stage from 6-9pm.  This trio of local talents Carol Harris, Charles Elliott, and Randy Mims have put together a great show of their best tunes, with a variety of instruments and genres.  Bowery Station is excited at this new combination and mashup of local troubadours as we continue to make Thursdays the New Fridays.

Friday, June 8 - What do you get when you mix a little beach, a little bayou, a touch of Country, a spoonful of americana and a dash of folk... you betcha... Low Country Boyle is back on stage from 7-10pm.  It's always a lively show, with energy that fills the venue as this trio offers diverse vocals coupled with a multitude of stringed instruments swapped amongst the band.  It's a perfect fit for an Apalachicola Friday!

Saturday, June 9 - Savanna Leigh Bassett joins us in the afternoon for a show from 3-5:30pm.  Savanna was a featured artist in Chickfest 2018 and stole the show.  Her performances are dynamic, powerful, and captivating.  This young talent has a remarkably powerful voice that is accented by her percussive guitar style.  Then, back in the house comes the one and only Jerry Thigpen Trio from 6:30-9:30 for one of their jamming shows of rock, blues and oldies.  This Trio knows how to put on a memorable show every time they play, and this will be one of the last times you will have to catch them for the summer, as Jerry takes off for his northern tour.  This is a Saturday packed with talent and we at the BS music factory are excited about hosting Savanna and Jerry.

Sunday, June 10 - Once again, join us for our new summer hours, and check out what a great beach we have, as BS is closed on summer Sundays.

See you at the show.... thanks again for supporting live music in Apalachicola at Bowery Station!
