July kicks off with Apalachicola's Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday July 3, but the whole month is a fireworks show of explosive live music! Wednesday, July 3 - Bluesman Scotty McCormick starts off the day with a show from 3-6pm. Scotty has been compared to the likes of Joe Cocker and is making his debut on the BS stage for the big day. Then LOCOMOTIVE pulls into Bowery Station for a show from 6:30-11 with a pause for the fireworks! You have seen these talents compiled in other groups on the BS stage before, such as 10 Pound Pancake and Hightest, and they are ready to light up our Independence Day Celebration! It surely will be an evening to remember so come join us July 3! Thursday, July 4 - CLOSED. See you on SGI as they will be celebrating our Independence in Grand Fashion! Friday, July 5 - Sundowner Motel joins us for a fun Friday with a show from 7-10pm. Americana folk that is hard to classify, Sundowner Motel crosses genre boundaries with songs that ache with the intimacy of life, grit and blessing alike, all wrapped in tone, melody and harmony. It Sounds like a place where one can go to feel sinless and strong. Described as a mixture between Warren Haynes and the Indigo Girls, Sundowner Motel is a refreshingly pure blend of Americana, Alt-country and folk. This will be a great return visit by this duo, so don't miss it. Saturday, July 6 - Remember on Saturdays we open at Noon! This allows for a day full of great live music. We start with Slim Fatz from 1-3pm. Slim brings in his growling blues with his own unique style, and always has his band of Slim groupies in tow!! Then, Savanna Leigh Bassett returns for one of her dynamic performances from 3-5:30pm. Savanna, another frequent flying female to grace our stage, puts on a high energy show of contemporary, and pop country with a good helping of well composed originals. Then, hold onto you hats as the Jerry Thigpen Trio is bringing the rock and blues train into town for a show from 6:30-10pm. Well written originals are mixed in with your favorites from the Beatles to the blues... so come on out for a show that is sure to have the joint jumpin! We missed these guys last month on the day Apalachicola was flooded and all the businesses shut down, so we know they, along with us are looking forward to very special night with the Trio at Bowery Station, your home for the best live music in Apalachicola! The summer continues to get warmer, and the live music continues to be piping hot... thanks again for your support! |
