This will be a week to sink your teeth into....some newbies, along with some of the best of the BS circuit......culminating with the 3rd Annual SPAM cook-off Sunday, February 5th! As a tribute to your good taste....eat it up.... Wednesday, February 1 - Kick off the week with Brian Bowen from 3-5pm, singing classics off his 10 Mile Smile album, then it's onto Open Mic hosted by Adriane Elliott from 6-8ish! All performer tips are going to benefit Franklin County Schools Project Graduation. Come sing a song, do a dance, or kick back and clap along, all for a great cause. Thursday, February 2 - Jeffrey Thomas is lined up for a great set from 3-5pm with talented guitar and great vocals. Those who saw him debut at Open Mic last week know why we booked this phenom from the Carolinas without a hesitation. Then, another debut, Lucky Mud hits the stage from 6-8:30pm. By demand we hunted down this Americana Folk duo based in Econfina and were fortunate enough to land them for a Thursday. Thursdays are quickly becoming the new Friday at Bowery Station... Friday, February 3 - Cat Braaten starts off the day from 3-5pm with her dynamic vocals, talented guitar, and well written originals, then Low Country Boyle is back in the house for a fun Friday from 6-9pm with their wide range of music that has you up and dancin' in no time. Saturday, February 4 - We kick off Saturday with Melissa Bowman from 2-5pm as she is sure to draw a crowd and warm them up for the return of Wakulla Rising, who will be rocking us into the evening from 6-9pm with their hard hitting swamp funk that will have everyone on their feet. These cats are known to put on one of the best shows on the Forgotten Coast, but put 'em on the BS stage and it only gets betta! SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5th - 3RD ANNUAL SPAM COOK-OFF AND BOWERY STATION'S 3RD ANNIVERSARY PARTY. Bowery Station will open early at Noon for the 3rd Anniversary Celebration. 2 buck bottled beer, and 3 dolla drafts and wines will be the order of the day. SPAM contestants are welcome to bring in their dishes until the cut-off time of 2pm. At which time names will be drawn from a hat to line up heats of three participants at a time. This will not give any entrants the perceived advantage of going last. Contestants will be weighted evenly on presentation, and taste. Three judges in each category will rate each entrant on a scale of 1 to 10. There will be an overall winner who will get their name engraved on the SPAM trophy, and the rights to wear the coveted Blue SPAM jacket while in Bowery Station....and a bar tab for the rest of the day for themselves and a guest. Awards will be given for top score of presentation, and taste separately, excluding the over all winner. All ties will be decided in the customary best of three rock paper scissors. Bowery Station reserves the right to augment, bend, or adjust all rules as needed to accommodate an unfair and unscrupulous event to retain their professional image. Directly following judging, participants may offer their entries in exchange for donations that will go towards Franklin County Schools Project Graduation. Then, tasting Judges Brian Bowen and Johnny Barbato will kick in the musical entertainment for the afternoon. Right up until the Superbowl Kickoff when we invite everyone to head on over to Tapas for the best damn superbowl party in town complete with a low country boil put on by our third tasting Judge Danny Itzkovitz, proprietor and master chef of Tapas! How is that for a week of live music and serious fun livin'?? Bowery Station...the original ....bar in the Bowery. |
