Bowery Station Music Schedule (April 3 - 7)

Another wave of snowbirds began their migration north with the end of March, and we wish them well on their journeys and thank them for their support during the season.  We hope to see them all again next season as they come south to bask in the warmth of our piping hot live music...

That being said, this week is a fun one that wraps up with "The Battle in the Bowery," betwix two living legends, Bo Spring and John Sutton.

Here we go.....

Wednesday, April 3 -  Matt Gardi hosts as BS Open Mic rolls from 5-8ish.  Please note the 5pm start time, as last week we again had so many interested performers, therefore we will start a little earlier this week again, so if you want to show up and play after 5pm, our host is ready to accommodate you!  As always tips for our Open Mic performers go to support local charities, this week we are raising funds for the Friends of the St. Vincent Island National Wildlife Refuge, in anticipation of our fundraiser scheduled on Sunday, April 28, a Jimmy Buffett Tribute featuring Sticky Too!

Thursday, April 4 - Singer/Songwriter George Maddox joins us for a show from 6-9pm.  George plays a great mix of originals and covers, finding a home between country, americana and even a little southern rock.  George loves to share his love of the Forgotten Coast within his songs and is another one of those artists that help create a music centric environment as we continue to make Thursdays the New Fridays.

Friday, April 5 - Cat Braaten and Tom Mason join us for an afternoon show from 3-6pm. Cat, a proven Apalach favorite that can belt out the tunes with a mix of originals and covers, always gives a lights out performance, but once in a great while she brings along with her Nashville legend Tom Mason.  Tom joins her with intricate guitar riffs, fantastic harmonies, some amazing originals of his own, and on occasion.. even a trombone!!  Then, we have a DEBUT ALERT!  Southernaire, featuring Caitlin Rushing and Sean Holcomb are coming out for a show from 7-10pm.  Caitlin, an Orlando based singer songwriter is anything but a small town player. Her song “Hold On You” earned the 2nd place spot in the ISC (International Songwriting Competition). It is no surprise that her lyrics penetrate the heart and the soul of her listeners.  Combined with Sean Holcomb, who uses an acoustic-driven combination of folk, Americana, and southern soul to weave together the music he plays and writes, Southernaire is a do not miss act.

Saturday, April 6 - Get ready for a great couple acts, and a great couple days.  First, Nashville based John Sutton joins us for an afternoon solo performance from 2-5pm.  Few can put on such an energetic solo show as our friend John Sutton.  Clearly an accomplished guitarist, John adds powerful vocals to his dynamic and well written originals.  His shows always captivate the audience, making for a great afternoon that any live music enthusiast will enjoy.  Then, the Bo Spring Band comes in for another face melting evening from 6:30 - 10pm.  Few can dominate the stage like Bo and the gang, as they take you on a tour of originals and covers from the Stones to Zeplin, sprinkled with fsome americana for good measure.  We say only a Few can put on such a show... but that brings us to what we have planned for Sunday.... a freakin' fabulous faceoff..

Sunday, April 7 - Slim Fatz opens the day with one of his signature performances from 3-5pm, offering growling delta blues in his own style.  Then the moment you have been waiting for... the fight of the century featuring some of the top heavyweight performers to have played Bowery Station...  Ladies and Gentlemen....   prepare yourself for.... The Battle in the Bowery.  John Sutton takes on Bo Spring in a song for song duel of biblical proportion from 5-8pm.  Either of these performers can capture a crowd and burn down any venue they play as soloist... both with incredible guitar skills, powerful vocals, and well written originals.... but on this day... these two go head to head in a fun but competitive rivalry of showmanship, and performance.

Thanks again to all our musicians and live music enthusiasts that help make Bowery Station....your home for the best live music in Apalachicola!
