Happy Monday! Wow...what a great performance yesterday by The Adventures of Annabelle Lyn. If you missed them, mark your calendars for the Chickfest 2017 happening on Saturday, May 13th. Here is what Bowery Station, Apalachicola's home of great live music, has in store for you this coming week... Wednesday, April 12 - Our very own Matt Gardi leads off the week from 3-5. Then it's onto Open Mic from 6-8ish hosted by Adriane Elliot with all performer tips going to benefit the Friends of the St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge in lead up to this Saturday's fundraiser, featuring Matt Law, The Turkey Basters with Melissa Bowman, and The Currys. We currently have raised just over $850 in tips thus far...help us break $1000 to kick off this Saturday's event! Thursday, April 11 - LD Hatfield is back for a day gig from 3-5. LD defines country with a voice unparalleled in the genre regionally, and well written originals...you know when LD takes the stage because everyone tunes in. Then, pass the salt please, as local songwriter Brian Bowen joins us for an evening of great originals and your favorite classics from 6-8:30pm. Friday, April 12 - Start off the day with Jeffrey Thomas from 3-5, then stick around for the Bo Spring Band from 6-9pm. Safety belts and crash helmets will be available at the door. Nuff' said...it's Friday! Saturday, April 13 - Join us for a fun afternoon and evening of Live Music, food and fun! The day's lineup includes Matt Law, The Turkey Basters (Melissa Bowman and Tim Dutrow) and The Currys! Friends of St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge will be grilling plates of BarbQ and Brats for donations and BS will be donating a dollar for every beer and wine sold...so drink up...you'll be supporting a great cause! A Live Auction featuring a signed guitar by The Currys AND a painting of a Red Wolf by local artist Jenny Odom will be held prior to The Currys last set. Be sure to come by early to catch Jenny in action, as she will be doing a live painting of the Red Wolf. Songwriter and multi instrumentalist Roy Schneider, along with duo partner Kim Mayfield bring their tasty and beguiling stew of roots, folk and Americana music to all who will listen. Some notable past performances include the MAD fest in Yorkshire, England, Uncle Calvin's and The Bugle Boy in Texas, Nashville's Bluebird Cafe, and Roy's appearance as a contestant on NBC's "The Voice." Schneider is also a gifted accompanist and has performed on stage with Gove Scrivenor, Buddy Mondlock, Freebo (Bonnie Raitt,) John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Stevie Coyle (The Waybacks,) The Brothers Comatose, Joe Crookston, and Tom Paxton among others.
