Epic! Amazing! Incomprehensible! These exclamations and more were what the masses were saying after last Sunday's Battle in the Bowery!! John Sutton and Bo Spring put on one of the most memorable performances to have ever occurred on the Bowery Station stage, and I know I speak for everyone in attendance...thank you to both these gifted guys for sharing their skills with us. But fear not, as OCBC continues to brew Hooter Brown... we here at the live music factory will continue to cook up more goodies for the growing throngs of the live music enthusiasts that continue to support our efforts at Bowery Station... here is what we have this week! Wednesday, April 10 - Matt Gardi hosts as BS Open Mic rolls from 5-7pm. Please note the 5pm start time, and the 7pm end time for Open Mic performers as we have a Spotlight on the Mic scheduled from 7-9pm featuring Hobson Fulmer. Spotlights are our way of allowing some artists to play for longer than the normally allotted 3 or 4 songs. As always tips for our Open Mic performers go to support local charities, this week we are raising funds for the Friends of the St. Vincent Island National Wildlife Refuge, in anticipation of our fundraiser scheduled on Sunday, April 28, a Jimmy Buffett Tribute featuring Sticky Too! Speaking of..... Thursday, April 11 - Sticky Too joins us for a show from 6-9pm as we continue to make Thursdays the New Fridays. Tim and Jay can play just about any genre, and can always feel out the crowd to play just the perfect set list. Either can take a lead with their refined guitar skills, and clearly offer some of the best harmonies around the Gulf Coast, so come on out and get sticky! Friday, April 12 - Tyler James Arnold comes on in for a show from 3-6pm. Tyler brings the down home Louisiana sound to life with a well chosen set list, great leads over perfect sampling, a voice that commands attention, and tunes ranging from your favorite americana, and southern rock to contemporary gulf coast legends that will have you singing along. Then, Bowery Station is pleased to welcome back the TurkeyBasters from 7-10pm! We all need some basting once in a while, and no one is more up to the task than Melissa Bowman and Tim Dutrow, some of the area's most talented live performers! This duo absolutely raises the rafters every time they step on stage with their energy and talent, sharing their enthusiasm with an eager audience. Melissa gets the crowd singing along, dancing, and cheering to her commanding vocals and powerful guitar skills, as Tim's impressive time keeps the feet tapping and the hands clappin'! Followers are developing into a cultesque group of devotees that just love to get basted....come join the cult! Saturday, April 13 - Savanna Leigh Bassett is back in the house with one of her upbeat, energetic performances from 3-5:30pm. Joining us from Jacksonville, Savanna is a powerful guitarist that can sing your favorite Country hits mixed in with her own well written originals. Noted for her energy and vocals as well, Savanna is becoming a quick rising star in North Florida. Then, rock the night away with the Patrick Road Band from 6:30-10pm. This blues based rock band is led by a female vocalist that can raise the rafters and get the joint hoppin'. Male harmony comes from the drummer, who leads on occasion. PRB joins us from Georgia and they lit up Apalach about a year ago, but were unfortunately cancelled during Hurricane Michael... making them all the more excited about getting back in and burning down the house, to continue to build their reputation here in Apalachicola. Sunday, April 14 - Brody Buster joins us on the second part of his Florida Tour as he heads back north with a show from 5-8pm. Brody Buster is a blues rock musician from Lawrence, KS. He's a former harmonica child prodigy and has been featured on countless TV shows, including the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Dateline, Crook & Chase, and the Jon Stewart Show. Even Baywatch Nights and Full House showcased Brody's talents. Brody has shared the stage with Quincy Jones, Keb Mo, Chaka Kahn, Lee Oskar and was a regular performer at B.B. King's Blues Club. B.B. was once quoted as saying, "Despite his age, Brody Buster is one of the greatest harmonica players of our time." Brody has also won best harmonica player at the 2017 International Blues Festival and 2nd place Solo at the same fest. Brody also has the REX HUMPHRIES seal of approval and is a do not miss performer! Just ask Rex. Thanks again to everyone that continues to support our efforts to bring the best live music to Apalachicola, without your support it could not be possible. |
